Punjabi musician and actor Diljit Dosanjh has been climbing the ladder of success pretty quickly these days. Known for never mincing his words, his much-awaited movie Chamkila was recently released on Netflix. As the netizens are busy gushing about his portrayal of late singer Amar Singh Chamkila, there have been reports of his secret marriage to an American-Indian woman. The reports also add that they also have a son together. While he has maintained silence over the news, the mystery woman has now issued a clarification stating that their photos, which went viral, were from a song shoot.
Taking to the subreddit Bolly Blinds N Gossip, she shared the viral photos and a few snippets of entertainment portals claiming that she is his wife and dismissed the claims. She captioned the post, “Diljit’s wife’s photo on the internet is NOT a woman called Sandeep Kaur. It’s me!” She explained that the photos were from a music video that she had shot with Diljit for the movie Mukhtiar Chadha, she worked as a model back then. She went on to add that despite her family making her aware that the photos were being circulated on the internet, she laughed it off initially. The mystery woman wrote, “I was made aware by friends and relatives that my image was being used maliciously to be “Diljit Dosanjh’s wife” on the internet. At first I laughed it off as I had no idea how this happened, and I did attempt some take down requests across YouTube and Quora. Never did I think the image would remain so pervasive for so many years. This news continues to go viral every so often, and here we are again with my image being used on a lot of TikTok’s and Instagram posts recently. She went on to request the netizens to report posts that are using her photos to spread the misinformation about her nuptials with Diljit Dosanjh. She concluded, “I’m not looking for any internet fame or anything like that.”
It is to be noted that the 40-year-old actor-singer very rarely opens up about his personal life. It was only recently that he shared a prt of his childhood with his fans where he revealed that he shares a strained relationship with his family.
On the work front, Diljit Dosanjh is currently enjoying the success of his two recently released movies Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon starrer Crew, and a biopic based on the life of Amar Singh Chamkila, co-starring Parieeti Chopra. While the first movie released in theatres, the Imtiaz Ali directorial will be streaming on Netflix.
